About EDC

Professor Dr. Klaus Kümmerer founded EDC in the early 2000s. He is Professor for Sustainable Chemistry and Material Resources at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Prof. Kümmerer is a globally recognized and networked expert in environmental chemistry, green and sustainable chemistry and pharmacy. For almost 20 years, he has been using computer-based methods to predict the properties of chemical substances and pharmaceuticals. Since then, he has been working, among other things, on the improvement and implementation of the understanding of green and sustainable chemistry and, in particular, of the concept of Benign by Design in practice, which has also resulted in patents. The intensive, successful interaction of innovative academic research and practical application distinguishes EDC.
